The minister of Education, Malam Adamu Adamu, in abujah during the 2023 Ministerial press lease,
announce that the Federal Government had stress that the use of National Identification Number (NIN)
is a Necessary requirement for the UTME registration.
The Minister also direct the Joint Admission and Matriculation Board (JAMB), to work out procedure
with the National Identity Management Commission (NIMC) for execution.
As stated by the Minister, the use of National Identity Number (NIN) for JAMB registration by candidates
is now a government policy.
quota JAMB is working closely with the National Identity Management Commission, to guarantee the
sustainability of this policy and ban multiple registrations, quota; the Minister said.
He also added that the candidates will use their National Identity Cards to their higher institutions and
further.
Adamu disclose that the government, shaped and standardized above 650 JAMB examination centres
while looking forward to built additional 800 centre this year 2023.
